Missouri River – Below Holter Dam

Back to the Missouri River below Holter Dam where open water and some success beckons.

Due to wind and interest in trying a couple promising runs, I went to the east side of the river.

Water

Still, the water is amazingly clear – “gin” clear in classic fly fishing parlance. You can easily see several feet into the depths of the water. Lots of vegetative life in the river and loads of obvious resting places for trout.

Fishing

Nawa. Nothing. Zippo. But what a place to hang out while the sun sets and the moon rises.
