K-M (K Bar M) Scout Camp is located 23 miles northwest of Lewistown,Montana in the North Moccasin Mountains. The camp consists of approximately600 acres of mountains and foothills including a gold rush era ghost townand a gold mine. K-M has fourteen troop sites, which will accommodate approximately30 people each.
All sites have adequate timber cover and open areas for tent sites and
provide picnic tables, latrine, running water, and fire barrels. K-M features
a full-service dining hall and the option of patrol cooking in the troopsite.
Troops electing patrol cooking must bring thier patrol boxes andliquid or
propane fuel stoves for cooking. Troops may cook meals in theircampsite for
completion of advancement and merit badge requirements. Foodwill be provided
with prior arrangements, but the troop must provide theirown cooking gear.
Special dietary needs can be arranged. Troops shouldbring their own tents,
cots, dining fly and patrol equipment as none isavailable from the camp.There
are no facilities for small children(non-scouts)and should not be brought
to camp. A trading post is available at campto purchase useful items andsnacks.
K-M PROGRAMS
Our goal at K-M is to offer something for every age and every Scout'sexperience
level.
The Prospector Program area is designed for the first year camper. Our
goal is to prepare each scout to become a First Class Scout using the First
Class tracking sheet. Scouts will be taught by experienced older staffmembers
with lots of "hands-on" learning and doing.
PIONEER PROGRAM
AQUATICS K-Mhas
developed a small mountain lake suitable for canoeing and rowing andoffers
an invigoration swim in its cool waters.

OTHER ACTIVITIES: Beginning swimming, Mile Swim, Snorkling,and BSA

SCOUT CRAFT
The Scout Craft area allows Scouts to refine their skills in the camp living
area and even learn some new ones. Our experts can teach everything formpioneering
to Dutch oven cooking.
MERIT BADGES OFFERED: Astronomy, Indian lore, Orienteering,Pioneering,
Wilderness Survival, Cooking, Hiking, Backkpacking, Camping,Communications,
Emergency Preparedness and First Aid.
FIELD SPORTS
Camp offers a .22 caliber rifle range, muzzle-loading and shotgun shooting,
and an archery range. Our staff can even teach you how to tie flies anduse
them on our lake.

Archery and Fishing
NATURE Scouts
learn about the web of life, learn to appreciate the interrelationshipsof
all living things, and other secrets of nature, as well as problemsin the
environment.

Forestry, Geology, Mammals, Nature, Soil & Water Conservation,Reptile
and Amphibian Study, and Weather.
HANDICRAFTS
Handicraft allows Scouts to learn the secrets of ancient peoples in working
with wood, leather and reeds.
MERIT BADGES OFFERED: Basketry, Leatherworking, and Woodcarving
TRAPPER PROGRAM
K-M High Adventure program offers fun and adventure "on campus," whilestill
allowing time to finish up those last few merit badges. This programis for
Scouts 13 years old or older, with the exception of the MountainMan experience,
in which any Scout can participate.
CLIMBING TOWER HIGH ADVENTURE
Scouts will learn and practice the skills of climbing and rapelling
from experienced climbers on a 30-foot tower with different degrees ofdifficulty.
What a rush, in rapelling down that first time. This is sureto be a "must
do" activity for older Scouts. Check it out! The Climbingmerit badge is now
offered.
MOUNTAIN BIKE ADVENTURE
For the older Scout with an hour of free time. Mountain bike up tothe top
of the Moccasin Mountain, tour the "other half" of K-M, where veryfew people
go. These hour-long adventures are planned by your group underthe direction
of our experienced guides and will test your skill and endurance.
MOUNTAIN MAN OUTPOST
All Scouts are invited to vist the Mountain Man outpost and take astep back
to 1840 to see and do what a trapper did over 150 years ago.The Scouts may
choose from many available projects or simply help out withwhatever may be
in progress. They can learn many basic survival skills,make camp items, and
partake in the Mountain Man's daily activities. Thisprogram is set up onan
hourly basis to blend in with the merit badge programs.
VOYAGEUR PROGRAM
A voyageur was a mountain traveler back in 1840. Today, for those Scouts13
years old or older, it is an opportunity to travel, either by canoeor mountain
bike through the nearby mountains and plains or on the MissouriRiver (Known
as the River Expedition and the Mountain Bike Trek).
PROVISIONAL TROOP
Scouts, did you miss out on the chance for camp either because yourtroopdidn't
go, you were on vacation, or had to play ball when they went?Well,here is
your chance. Two scouts from a troop may come to K-M as individualsand we
will provide the leadership for a fun filled week at camp.
DETAILS:
This program is designed for only two boys from a troop. If more thantwoboys
from any troop plan to come, the troop must send a leader, atleast 18years
of age. This means that the boys need to sign up and beprocessed throughthe
troop. The Scoutmaster is still responsible to getthe boys signed up,paid
for, and for transportation to and from camp.
This provisional troop will only happen once, July 27-August 2. NOTE:
Scoutsneed to know that they will need to work hard to help the provisional
Scoutmaster. An extra fee is involved. See K-M fee schedule.
